This unit will cover man's relationship with nature. We will read about both the peaceful side and the violent side of nature and the way man has lived in harmony and struggled to dominate the natural world.

There are 2 projects for this unit.
Project 1 This may be the hardest assignment of the year... or the easiest. Go outside. Sit down. Be still and quiet. Pay attention for 30 minutes minimum.
When you return to the house, write down everything you saw. Then think about what you saw, what lessons can man learn from nature- specifically what you saw. be ready to spend a few minutes sharing this with the class.
Project 2
Write a review of the film _______________ from the point of view of either Herman Melville, Ralph Waldo Emerson, or Henry David Thoreau. The review should be about 1 page typed. You can also add this to the sites blog.
