Check out the story below. 14 life guards were fired for posting a funny video of themselves on- line. They were in uniform and at work during the filming of the video. This emphasizes that you must be thoughtful about what you put on-line. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/sideshow/lifeguards-fired-over-gangnam-parody-video-video-172508877.html

In my opinion the video was not explicit enough for the employees to be fired. Yes the video was a bit on edge with the sex appeal of the women and men. Yet there was no nudity nor was there any unnecesary contact. If the employees would have been put onn leave or had a meeting i would understand, but being fired was too far.

I personally think it's so stupid that they were all fired. As long as they weren't doing anything inappropriate, illegal, or in anyway "trashing" their work place, they had no right to fire them.

From my point of view it was unfair that they were fired. But I can see the reason they were. They were in uniform, therefore their manager probably saw it as bad representation... Even though it might have been a bit over exaggerated, because what they did wasn't exactly "wrong."

In my opinion firing the Lifeguards was a foolish idea. They may have been in uniform and at the poool, but they were not doing anything illegal or against the law. The situation may have went differently if they asked their manager first.

I agree with everyone who posted a comment. I can see how the boss maybe didn't like having his business advertisted that way, but I don't really see the need to go as far as firing them. There wasn't really anything inappropriate shown during the video so what's the big deal? I think a 5 minute meeting would have been more than enough to straighten the problem out.

i agree with everyone who posted a comment as well. i understand their boss might not have approved of their behavior. Yes, they were in uniform but they did not commit an illegal crime;therefore they should have been able to keep their jobs.

I feel as if the firing of these life guards was a little extreme, but if the boss doesn't approve of these representation in uniform then he has the authority to fire them. In my opinion though he shouldn't have fired them for this video, even the Naval, and Army academy made these videos and they uphold the highest respect for themselves. If the boss didn't like it then he should have informed them of all the rules before hiring them. Leave a Reply. |
